Its good and simple. Its seems to be eficient.
The application concept is well in general, but it could sure use some imporvement in design and functionality. Adding features such as creating Notes for subjects for every class/week and being able to add files to each of the weekly note sections like Microsoft OneNote has would make this application the best. Keep it up!
I agree with the previous comment. The app needs better design, and a way to add notes (not lectures) to a class.
This is going to be a lifesaver for me in the next semester!!!
Regardless of other peoples criticism, I find this app very helpful, and think itll help me stay focused and organized when it comes to school work. I find the interface fine, and think for $3, youre getting a bargain. I would recommend this app to any student who is tech-saavy and needs a way to stay up-to-date and organized.
I found that the app itself is fairly well designed, having a very easy-to-use interface that will definitely come in handy in the long run! However, one glitch Ive been experiencing thus far is syncing with my iPod Touch- the devices will find eachother but just cannot connect, so Im hoping this will be ironed out shortly. Id highly recommend if not planning to sync between computer and iPhone, but otherwise just cross your fingers that this will get corrected shortly.
Its a great app but I am looking foward to new updates!
Im surprised that no one has encountered this problem yet, but you cannot have different times for one class. What I mean is that iHomework asks you what day(s) you have your class on, as well as the starting and finishing times, but does not allow for a different starting/finishing time on the other (second) day. Im in university and ALL of my classes are on two different days and NONE of them start/finish at the same time both days. I also find that I spend a lot of time imputting information and believe that there could be an easier method. I have only just downloaded the app so hopefully I will find that all this time pays off. For $3 though I think it is alright.
All and all a GREAT app but... still needs some work. I find the app does not automatically update into iCal even tho I have the settings set up like that, I need to constantly save as the program seems to crash often. When the app is running although it show "no selection" I assumed I could click and add the new assignment but I have to hold command N. The app should have option that creates a count down till your next assignment is due, and when using the "quick Assignment" there should be a spot to view the calendar for easier date selection. There should be a calendar below the date on the left hand side so you get some idea of what is coming up. The app has huge potential and I have recomended it to many other students but the update will be great. Thats why I gave it 3 stars. not perfect yet, but get these bugs fixed and ill give it 5 stars.
Pros - Designed specifically to keep track of school work. - Attaching files and keeping track of partners on the assignments info pages is pretty cool. Cons - Why cant I add contacts by pulling them off Address Books? A lot of other productivity apps allow for that. - Needs the ability to sync between multiple Macs. Its already got Mac to iPhone syncing on it, so why not extend that to Mac to Mac - Only being able to view your assignments in a day by day view feels quite clastorphobic and constrained. A calender view would be handy.
This app has some good features, unfortunately it is also missing a lot. Very limited customization options, specifically regarding available fields. Ease of use is not there as others have said and dispite what those have said about it being fine if you are tech savy. I use my computer constintly and this app is definitely not as easy to use as it should be. I really hope the developers are asking for specific feedback and working on improvements. This app has great potential.
I am not a big fan of this app. I find there are a lot of issues with syncing. Everytime I have tried to sync so far a dialogue box pops up but then nothing happens. I have left my computer for hours and come back and still nothing has happened. Also the interface is not easy to use. It is a good idea, but its functionality is not great.
I love this app, and it is such a lifesaver for high school. My only issues with it are as follows: This app is very basic, and when compared to the iPad or iPhone version, it is crap. There is no way of creating different types of assignments (homework, test, etc.) on the Mac app, whereas the iPad or iPhone version allow to create these, and weight them for how much they contribute to your course mark. My other issue with the app is that it does not sync properly with my iTouch. Finally, it really is a good application all in all., however some improvements would be greatly appreciated!
once you have it all set up with all of your school information, (which does take some time) its a great app to keep track of due dates, test dates, Grades right down to teacher contact info. Its even better when using it with the iPhone application and the wireless syncing has never been easier! the only thing that should be different to me, is that once you buy the Mac App, the iPhone and iPad App should come with it.
Very good app, has the potential to be great! For University students trying to get in to other colleges, keeping an average of their marks are important. This would add to the apps effectiveness as well as a small calendar in the bottom corner so you can see what is coming up, like mentioned on other reviews. Thanks
This application is great for organizing due dates, etc. However it is very time consuming to add dates and times for every class and assignment due dates.
Im actually rather disappointed. The program runs fine for me and everything, but I find that it majorly lacks functionality. Firstly, on the left hand side there is a list of assignments due, but it will by default show what assignments are due today. That seems rather silly as the reason I bought this app was to keep organized and stay ahead of my classes, I want to be able to see all my upcoming assignments. I can do that in the "List" tab, but that means I have to view a messy UI (at least in comparison to the "Detail" tab). Also, it feels like it was rather pointless to have my classes listed on the side when they seem to simply be there for nothing more than aesthetic purposes. Having the courses sitting on the side does nothing for me other than remind me what courses Im taking. I would have liked to have been able to click one of the courses and saw a list of the assignments due for that course, organized by first due, instead of the due date list on the far left that you have to scroll through to find out whats due. I found the process of adding teachers very silly, requiring unnecessary jumping around. I have to add the course and then midway through adding the course I have to go to the teachers tab and add the teachers name and info there. It just seems to make much more sense that when I click add teacher I can put all of the teachers information in there. Maybe theres another reason that you did this that Im not aware of, but I feel like it was a waste of time for me to have to find a different way to add the teacher. I guess my biggest complaint is the fact that the "Detail" screen seems so skimped out when thats the most aesthetically pleasing, but had the least functionality. Please do something with the functionality and I will give this a 5 star rating. For $3 Im not too upset as it works relatively well, but I still feel it needs at least these things worked on for it to do what its supposed to. -Rick
This app is amazing! I use it every class instead of writing down in my agenda. It makes it so easy to create a assignment or test. The one thing I wish it had was a Day 1 and Day 2 option. Overall amazingly easy to use
This is a pretty good idea that help me keep tracking my homework and stuff. if the app can add up a weight of each homework and quiz to calculate the total mark up to date, it will help a alot. also, i thought the app wil com up with a timetale of all my course after entering the class time, but turned out i was kind wates of time to put the infomation in. i also can not email my prof drictly through the app, do i do not see any value of putting those infomation in there.there is also a main concern which is about the due date. We do NOT do our home work on due date, we do it before that day, a arlarm and a samll calendar solve this problem.
